Practical conservation work.

The work of Terra Éire is place-led and designed to build ecological value over time.

1. Habitat & ecosystem restoration

Assessing the land first and restoring the ecological systems appropriate to the site, with long-term stewardship rather than one-off interventions.

2. Native woodland & trees

Establishing and strengthening native woodland, trees and natural regeneration for biodiversity, resilience and long-term structure.

3. Hedgerows

Restoring and establishing living boundaries that provide shelter, wildlife corridors, nesting, forage and rural continuity.

4. Wetlands & ponds

Creating or restoring wetland and pond habitat where hydrology and site conditions make it ecologically appropriate.

5. Soil restoration

Improving soil condition and natural processes as the foundation for resilient habitats and healthier landscapes.

6. Native propagation

Developing native tree and plant propagation capacity, with careful seed collection, provenance recording and growing-on for future restoration work.

7. Pollinator habitat

Supporting pollinators through habitat structure, nesting opportunities and continuity of appropriate seasonal forage.

8. Native wildflowers

Using native wildflowers where they suit the existing habitat and restoration objective, rather than treating wildflower sowing as a default intervention.

9. Community participation & education

Bringing people into practical stewardship through shared learning, volunteering, skills and meaningful participation in restoration.
